Dr. David Luke holds the position of Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Greenwich, where he has taught the undergraduate course on the Psychology of Exceptional Human Experience since 2009. Additionally, he serves as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London. Dr. Luke is also involved with the Alef Trust, where he leads the Professional Certificate in Psychedelics, Altered States, and Transpersonal Psychology program and tutors in the MSc program in Consciousness, Spirituality, and Transpersonal Psychology.

Dr. David Luke's research primarily explores transpersonal experiences, anomalous phenomena, and altered states of consciousness, with a particular emphasis on psychedelics. He has authored over 100 academic papers and thirteen books in this field.

Dr. Luke’s expertise in psychedelic research is instrumental in developing specialized programs tailored for specific outcomes, such as retreats focused on enhancing problem-solving abilities.

Additionally, Dr. Luke plays a key role in the educational aspects of these retreats. He participates in teaching sessions that help participants understand the psychological and physiological effects of psychedelics, contributing to a deeper, more informed experience. His work ensures that each retreat not only meets scientific standards but also addresses the unique needs of participants, making each program a robust blend of research-backed methodology and practical application.

About David

Dr. David Luke dedicates his research time to conducting clinical drug trials with LSD, carrying out DMT field experiments, and studying weather control practices with Mexican shamans. Apart from these activities, he directs the Ecology, Cosmos, and Consciousness salon at the Institute of Ecotechnics in London. He is also a co-founder and trustee, as well as a former director and chair, of the Breaking Convention: International Conference on Psychedelic Consciousness. Dr. Luke has delivered over 500 invited public lectures and conference presentations and has earned numerous awards for teaching, research, and writing. He has organized a variety of events, including festivals, conferences, symposia, seminars, retreats, expeditions, pagan cabarets, and pilgrimages. With a keen interest in the diverse methods of consciousness alteration, he has engaged with scientists, shamans, and Shivaites from South America to India. He lives life on the edge, of Sussex.
