Psychedelics and Soul Centric Initiation

This month we will explore the psychedelic experience as an aspect of the journey of Soul Centric initiation. This is a mapping of the psychedelic experience that moves beyond the idea of just taking psychedelics for healing personal trauma, and even beyond the scope of modernist thinking and the medical healing model all together. This understanding of initiation can be found within traditional indigenous cultures, within western esoteric traditions and in contemporary deep ecopsychotherapy practice.

We will explore together the idea that plant medicines can be part of a process of soul initiation. A process of awakening to hidden aspects of both nature and the human psyche through encounters with the imaginal realm.

We will be exploring some maps and territories of the imaginal world as a way to orientate both the psychedelic and nature-based rites of passage experience as a ‘dying practice’.

The process of overcoming the desires of our ego and learning to find our personal path to living in service to the more than human world. The transformation from an Ego centric to an Eco or Soul Centric world view.
